Aims:

 

  • To develop communicative competence in English
  • To analyse the reality of the partner schools and their environments
  • To analyse the differences/ similarities between the two countries in costume, folklore, water use, food habits
  • To establish comparative studies by analysing the differences in the life of the children in the villages – activities of the children such as sports, daily routines, hobbies, study
  • To learn about the most important dates in the lives of both countries
  • To value the possibilities of communicating with students of the same age, although from other country
  • Use of the techniques of information collection and creation of presentations
  • Knowledge of the surroundings, own and other people's socio-natural situation; tourist promotion
  • Study of the modifications that are introduced into cooperative work "you yield I yield, we all share, we respect and we collaborate. Conclusion: we all gain "
  • Development of spirit of collaboration between pupils - Respect and valuing of the work
  • Team work developing group skills

 

How this will be achieved:

  • Making contact between the staff involved
  • Agreement of dates, points to deal with and distribution of tasks.
  • Pupils involved in the decision making at every stage
  • Introductory emails to establish personal relations
  • Collecting of data "in situ" by both parties. Analysis of that information and sharing through electronic mail, forum or Messenger.
  • Search for information on the net and Interchange of webs. Taking of photos and video
  • Elaboration of information
  • Graphic design: drawings for the calendar
  • Development of presentation of the calendar in printed material and PowerPoint or other available software
  • Presentation of the final work on the web pages of the centres and the etwinning website

 

Outcomes for the children:

  • Email and chat communication
  • Understanding of the work of both centres
  • Exhibition in both centres of the developed material
  • All the information to be put on the web
  • Final publication (Etwinning website pages and / or school websites) and paper publication
  • A month-by-month printed calendar with pages from both schools, selected by the children – these will be professionally spiral bound
  • Creative invitations to send with the intention of increasing the number of hits on the website and to make the shared work really public.
